MyLot Rules!

What have I been doing with my tiny portion of spare time? I've been on MyLot, mostly. It's a bboard that pays you per post, per photo, and per referral. From what I can see, you're teaching their search engine to find articles about anything you like to write about. From there, the search engine generates ads from eBay, Amazon, and so forth and displays the ads every time your use their search function to find a discussion. Then you might click on...say...a movie that you've wanted to buy on DVD, or a book that's being sold dirt cheap. MyLot gets paid for the click, and they pass it in to their "bboarders", writers, and bloggers. Oh, and you never have to purchase anything. You never have to click on an ad. This place is different.

Usually on a good day I'm making a buck or two, and that's pretty good compared to some of the kids who think they're good writers over there. Most appear to want to write a chapter on a subject, ask a question, and try to be the most popular posting by getting the most responses. My most popular post was "Does Your Husband Change The Toilet Roll?!"
I got over 30 gals and two guys writing me about how they'd been agonizing about that very subject for years. ;)

But it's not the popularity of a post that earns you money. It's the very quality and quantity of words in a first posting, as well as the reply to someone else's posting. Threads containing web page shortcut referrals (you must put the web page address in your post) pay more. Adding a photo to your post adds a cent to your total. And finally, there's the all-important "500th" post, when you get access to copy and paste (they stop you from doing it until then because of the temptation to plagiarize, I suppose.) I"m working my way towards it with friendly banter about such subjects as CSI: Las Vegas - there's a huge crowd of fans for the show there, "Deadliest Catch"(ditto), movie reviews, music discussions - really - if you have a desire in life, there are people with whom you can share a common interest at MyLot. I'm making friends, just like I did here in MySpace, the only thing is - they are much friendlier. Really! It's like all the floodgates open, and you can talk about just about anything. I've found my niche there with a few gals, (guys, there seem to be packs you discussing wresting, sex, and uh...action movies). So I'm quite content. It's not every bboard that will tolerate you posting about LEXX. acting, Jeff Goldblum's new series: Raines, Star Search, Star Trek, CSI, and Deadliest Catch, The Gong Show, The Addams Family, and Men all on the same web-board!

If you're interested and want to try it out, why not stop by and do some searches in the "Discussions" section, see if anything piques your interest, and discover yet another outlet for your talents! I've guesstimated that even before my cut and paste abilities are awarded that I'll make about and extra $300 dollars this year just for doing what I do at a zillion other bboards. Seems fair to me - that's a LIPA (electricity) bill and a half! I could use getting that paid...;)
