Real life has hit me in the noggin.
I'm working like a maniac trying to get an eBay business started, but in the midst of it all is that nagging feeling - that voice in the back of my brain that calls out, "You haven't gotten any Star Trek today!"
Dang, it's a rude little insessant peep of a voice that tortures me day and night.
I know that Voyager is on TV right now, and I'm struggling to finish up this blog and get my work done so that I can turn on the boob-tube to get my dose.
It's not just any Star Trek, no! It's Voyager, the series that I still haven't seen completely.
That means there's a remote chance of enjoying an new episode!
How can I not run for the remote and turn it on?
For you to understand my addiction, you'd have to picture me toddling at three years old n diapers with a bottle hanging halfway out of my mouth, screaming: "I wanna watch Mr. Big Ears! I wanna watch him, NOW!"
Little did my poor parents know, but the series was about to get canned, causing all sorts of trouble when that friendly, Vulcan face wasn't up on the screen in front of me. I can recall crying, screaming fits of misery. Why would it end, when it was part of my life from age one to age four?
Fortunately, The Monkees Mike Nesmith was nearly as good as Len Nimoy, and the crying fits stopped. Ithink I thought that Nesmith was actually Nimoy. He's got the same build, anyway.
So that's why Star Trek will always be a part of my everyday life. It's like eating and drinking -- I need it to calm me and sustain me.
Oh! Let it be known that I'm a nutter about Star Trek, and that from time to time you'll see crazy articles about Captain Kirk and Jean-Luc Picard.
Allrighty?! ;)
